Dave McLuckie to quit politics after guilty verdict
The former chairman of Cleveland Police Authority is to quit politics after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice.
Dave McLuckie, a councillor in Redcar and Cleveland, persuaded a friend to take his speeding points to avoid a driving ban and protect his career, a jury at Newcastle Crown Court found.
McLuckie has been warned to prepare for a jail sentence. He spoke to reporters after the verdict.
