Gavin Turk's population artwork funded by public

Artist Gavin Turk has opened the first exhibition of his neon artworks, created during the last 20 years.

He said one of the pieces depicts a "wild estimation" of the world's population at the time of the opening of the exhibition.

The 10-digit number stands on the 19th Century facade of the Bowes Museum, in County Durham and was funded by 145 members of the public who raised more than £6,000.
