Fears grow for future of Redcar's Regent Cinema

Plans for a new multiplex cinema in a Teesside town have sparked fears it could mean the end of a historic seafront venue.

Supporters of the Regent in Redcar have launched a campaign to fight to preserve it in the face of more modern competition.

Opened in 1928, it began life as a music hall before being converted into a cinema and has even featured on the silver screen itself.
