Hartlepool Hospital: Hundreds march to protect services

Hundreds of people marched along the Hartlepool coast on Saturday morning to protest at the withdrawal of services from their local hospital.

They want the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust to reverse its decision to centralise services at University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton and reduce those available at University Hospital of Hartlepool.

The Hartlepool hospital has lost its A&E department, consultant-led maternity care and intensive care unit in recent years.
