Headstone for County Durham World War One soldier

After almost a hundred years in an unmarked grave a County Durham soldier has "finally been given the recognition he deserves", his family has said.

Pte Edward Pratt was injured twice while serving on the Western Front, and died in 1918.

Last year, his family located his grave in Darlington's West Cemetery, and mourners gathered for a service of dedication at the new headstone.

His great granddaughter Margaret Prest, described it as a moving occasion.
