Frosterley feels 'forgotten' after being split by floods

People living in the village of Frosterley in Weardale say their community has been split in two by the floods.

The village bridge across the River Wear has been closed for three weeks because of safety fears, forcing residents to take a 10-mile detour just to get from one side of the village to the other.

Durham County Council said it is aiming to repair and reopen the bridge as quickly as possible.

But Frosterley residents like Marion Holmes and Sarah Hudspeth say people trying to cope with the problems in the village increasingly feel like they are being ignored.
