Middlesbrough FC pay tribute to 'Voice of the Boro'

Middlesbrough Football Club have been paying tribute to the 'Voice of the Boro' - the radio commentator Ali Brownlee - who died last week.

Ali, who was 56, covered over 1,000 Boro games in a career spanning more than 30 years.

He passed away on Sunday 14th February after losing his battle with cancer.

Both the club and the supporters were determined to make tonight's home game at the Riverside Stadium special for Ali and his family.

It was an occasion which included a personal big screen film about Ali, and a rapturous minute's applause before the game against Cardiff got underway
