Scheme to stop Hartlepool children going hungry during holidays

One in three children in Hartlepool is living in poverty and at risk of going hungry, according to the council.

It has set up a scheme to provide food parcels for children over the summer holidays.

The pilot project aims to tackle "holiday hunger" when free school meals are not on offer.

But there has been a mixed response from people in the town.
