Walk-in chest X-ray pilot targets lung cancer

A walk-in chest X-ray clinic is being piloted in an attempt to diagnose lung cancer cases earlier.

The year-long scheme by Northumbria Healthcare means worried patients can walk in off the street without first seeing their GP or making an appointment.

Lung cancer is one of the region's biggest killers.

Doctors are particularly keen to see patients who have a persistent cough.

Health reporter Sharon Barbour has visited the clinic.
