Machete raider caught on Sunderland shop's CCTV

Police investigating an attempted armed robbery at a newsagents in Sunderland have released footage of a machete-wielding man.

The man, whose face is covered, is shown entering Man & Sons in Eden Vale and confronting a member of staff, who picks up a pole used to close shutters.

A struggle ensues before the masked man leaves without taking anything.
