A woman who set up an online donation page for a disabled pensioner mugged outside his home has said she is overwhelmed by the response.

Alan Barnes, 67, broke his collarbone when he was pushed to the ground on Sunday in Gateshead.

By 17:00 GMT on Saturday more than £140,000 had been raised via Katie Cutler's page on the Go Fund Me site.
