Northumberland coast restoration given £400,000
Northumberland Wildlife Trust has been awarded more than £400,000 of funding to help restore a seven-mile stretch of coastline.
The project will restore and recreate habitats along Druridge Bay, from Cressell Pond to Foreshore and East Chevington to Linton Lane.
A large part of the £417,400 Heritage Lottery Funding will be used to build a wildlife discovery centre at the trust's Hauxley reserve which will replace the building destroyed in an arson attack in 2010.
The discovery centre is due to open in summer 2016.
