Director Ken Loach aiming to capture Geordie spirit
Award-winning director Ken Loach has decided to shoot his latest film on Tyneside.
I, Daniel Blake has been described as typically gritty Loach drama and is all about friendship and survival in an oppressive social welfare system.
The director told BBC Look North's Sharuna Sagar he wanted to make the film on the streets of Newcastle because North Easterners exhibit the kind of strength, humour, and camaraderie he wants to capture in the film
