Northumberland celebrates three years of Dark Sky success

Northumberland is celebrating three years of success since it became the first place in England to be given dark sky status.

The status means the night sky is protected and lighting controls are in place to prevent light pollution across Northumberland National Park and Kielder Water and Forest Park.

Since 2013, it has contributed £76m to the North East's economy and helped support more than 1,000 jobs in astro-tourism.

We took a look at the beauty of the night sky enjoyed by thousands.
