On board the charity-run double-decker food bus
A shift on board this double-decker with a difference.
Many items for sale on board would have gone to waste but, instead, affordable food is being brought to the community by South Tyneside charity Key.
First stop is a pub car park in South Shields.
"Whilst running the food bank we realised that there's a lot of people out there that also need help, that aren't in abject poverty and perhaps we shouldn't be waiting until people get into that critical situation," said Jo Benham Brown, Key's business development and communities manager.
In addition to affordable, good-quality food on the lower deck, specialist advice services and community activities will be offered on the upper deck.
