Rio 2016: How do you fly a horse around the world?

Trying to pack for a family holiday abroad can be a stressful event so what about taking horses?

Most of the New Zealand equestrian team train at Sir Mark Todd's stables at Liddington, near Swindon. To get to the Olympics in Brazil they all had to get on a plane.

BBC Wiltshire filmed the equine competitors being checked in for a cargo flight from Stanstead Airport.

The 34 horses were loaded onto pallets along with food, water and blankets and checked by vets prior to the 12-hour journey to Rio.

They were also accompanied by specially-trained staff to make sure they have a comfortable flight.
