Lightwater Valley's Angry Birds activity park sparks tourism hope

A new £1m Angry Birds attraction at Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, is hoped to boost tourist figures to the theme park and town.

Local business leaders welcomed the investment after bad weather and the recession led to a 10% drop in the park's visitor numbers in 2012.

Lightwater Valley, which attracts an average of 500,000 people each year, is Ripon's second largest employer after the army with 350 people working at the site.
