University of York students send rubber duck into space

A rubber duck has been attached to a weather balloon and sent to the edge of space by students at the University of York.

Astroduck gathered data and pictures from a height of approximately 19 miles (30km) before parachuting back to earth and becoming lost on the North York Moors.

The flight was organised by the university's astronomy society as a way of encouraging people to get involved in scientific research.
