Dolphins filmed leaping off coast of Scarborough

Dolphins have been spotted leaping from the water off the North Yorkshire coast.

Scarborough resident Lee Threadgold filmed the encounter on his Tuesday morning walk with his wife.

He said: "I'd estimate we probably saw about a dozen or so dolphins, it's difficult to say as there were several all spread apart a little bit.

"They were unusually close. They were probably only 150 yards, I'd say, from where we were sitting. It's really a front row seat."

He added: "It's always very special when you do see them."
