Belfast hospital chief: 'First priority is the babies'

A third baby has died at the Royal Maternity Hospital in Belfast after an outbreak of an infection called Pseudomonas.

The first child died on 6 January, the second on 13 January - both from the infection. The third infant died on Thursday night.

Colm Donaghy, the Chief Executive of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, said the "first priority is the babies and the families''.

He added that a helpline had been set up and a ''full investigation'' would be carried out.
