Comedian Jake O'Kane criticises council play decision

One of Northern Ireland's leading comedians has criticised a council for banning a play in County Antrim.

Newtownabbey Borough Council cancelled the Reduced Shakespeare Company's The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged) after complaints that it was blasphemous.

Comedian Jake O'Kane said unionist councillors who took the decision "weren't elected to be moral guardians" and that if they were offended "then don't go to the theatre".

He was speaking to BBC Newsline's Mervyn Jess.
