Electoral Officer: Delays 'strengthen case' for electronic counting

Northern Ireland Chief Electoral Officer Graham Shields has said the delays in counting the European election results 'strengthen the case for electronic counting'.

He says a decision will be made at 23:00 BST on Monday about whether to carry on overnight or stop and continue on Tuesday.

As of 21:30 BST only one MEP, Sinn Féin's Martina Anderson, has been returned.
