Water charges: Mass protest across Republic of Ireland

Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest against the introduction of water charges in the Republic of Ireland.

It is believed there were more than 90 demonstrations across the state, with protesters angry at the prospect of bills arriving from the beginning of January.
