Willie Hay swaps Stormont for Lords chamber

The former Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly has taken his seat in the House of Lords.

Willie Hay stepped down from the role of Speaker in October due to ill health, but will now be titled Lord Hay of Ballyore.

Lord Hay, 64, was accompanied by the DUP's Lord Morrow and Lord Browne of Belmont as he took the oath of allegiance to the Queen.
