Belfast shooting was 'reckless madness', police say

Police have said the shooting of a police officer in north Belfast was 'reckless madness'.

The attack happened near a petrol station on the Crumlin Road on Sunday night. The officer is in a stable condition in hospital.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hamilton said their main line of inquiry is "violent dissident republicans".
