Nick Clegg: Ups and downs are inevitable

The coalition government is marking its first hundred days in office, by claiming it has got to grips with the budget deficit and created the conditions for economic growth.

However, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said "ups and downs" are inevitable.

He told the BBC that the government, collectively, was having to take some "difficult decisions", which some people might find difficult to accept.
