Chris Bryant says police have 'done nothing' about his phone hacking claims

Former Labour Minister Chris Bryant has told the House of Commons that police have "done nothing" to investigate evidence that his mobile phone was hacked.

He raised concerns about his phone last summer, when allegations first surfaced that journalists at the News of the World newspaper employed the technique of phone hacking to develop stories.

Dozens of MPs may have had their phones hacked, he warned, and he requested that the Home Secretary investigate the matter.

Theresa May addressed Parliament on the issue, after the Metropolitan Police said that fresh evidence had come to light.

Former News of the World reporter Sean Hoare has alleged that former editor Mr Coulson asked him to hack into phones - a claim Mr Coulson denies.
