Ed Miliband promises to unite party
Newly elected Labour leader Ed Miliband has said his responsibility is to unite the party and provide "responsible opposition".
Mr Miliband Ed won by just over 1% from brother and former foreign secretary David after second, third and fourth preference votes came into play.
Mr Miliband, 40, replaces acting leader Harriet Harman in the contest triggered by the resignation of Gordon Brown.
