Tips for new shadow ministers by Alan Duncan MP

When Ed Miliband became Labour leader, he appointed 22 of the 66 new Labour MPs to his team in an attempt to re-energise the party.

Conservative MP Alan Duncan - a shadow minister who made the jump to fully fledged minister - gives his five top tips to the new faces on the Opposition front bench.

These include running a diary, media appearance advise and not being a "nit-picking twit".
