Blur's Dave Rowntree warns of 'Dickensian underclass'

Blur drummer Dave Rowntree - who has stood as a Labour parliamentary candidate says bankers' trimming bankers' bonuses are a distraction from the need for reform of the financial sector.

He explains how through his legal work, he was surprised to find no government has solved the problems of the 'Dickensian underclass' in poorer parts of London.

Jon Cruddas says Labour should have done more while Michael Portillo says the visible unfairness of bankers' bonuses makes government spending cuts more difficult to sell.
