Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls on Banking Commission Report lessons

Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls has been apologising for Labour's failure to regulate the banks, ahead of Monday's Banking Commission report.

The BBC expects it will recommend banks ring-fence their risky investment operations, to protect depositors' savings.

Mr Balls told BBC1's Politics Show: "We need a tough solution which can ensure this can never ever happen again - so many families and businesses have suffered."
