Theresa May: Coalition united despite AV row

Conservative Home Secretary Theresa May has defended the conduct of the No campaign in the referendum on AV, saying that the coalition will continue to work together after Thursday's vote.

The referendum on changing the way Britain elects MPs was a key concession secured by the Liberal Democrats when forming a coalition with the Conservatives a year ago, but the proposal was overwhelmingly rejected by voters.

Senior Lib Dems are said to be furious about the way campaigners for a No vote, with what they believe was the approval of their Conservative cabinet colleagues, made personal attacks on deputy prime minister Nick Clegg.
