Should UK fixed-term parliament be four or five years?

Former Lord Chancellor Lord Falconer backed the coalition plans for fixed-term Parliaments, but said they should be four year long not five, even though the last Labour government lasted that long.

Mark Harper, Cabinet Office minister for constitutional reform, explained why the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats were pressing ahead with five-year terms, and how an election could be called to end the life of an unpopular government.
