PM: Coalition has proved to be 'a strong government'

The prime minister has visited a school in south east London to highlight what he says are the coalition's achievements in education.

Mr Cameron rejected the suggestion that there are constant disagreements between the Conservatives and the Lib Dems saying "I don't accept the idea that the role of one party is to moderate the other".

In an interview with the BBC's political editor, Nick Robinson, Mr Cameron went on to say that the Liberal Democrats had "a huge opportunity in this government for the first time in 60 years to prove themselves as a party of government and that is what they are doing".
