Free schools could hurt existing schools says council

The Education Bill, due for its second reading in the Lords this month, presumes in favour of opening free schools, which are state-funded but outside council control.

Susana Mendonça has been to an independent school in Warwickshire - set to convert to a 'free school' - and the planned site of one in Birmingham to see how they would work.

She also hears why not everyone is in favour of them, with fears they could harm existing schools.
