Phone hacking: MPs vote not to recall James Murdoch

MPs have voted against recalling News International chairman James Murdoch to give more evidence on the phone-hacking row.

Culture, Media and Sport committee chairman John Whittingdale told the BBC Mr Murdoch "has already promised to supply us with more information".

He said the committee would write to two former News of the World executives who disputed Mr Murdoch's claim he was unaware of an email suggesting hacking was widespread.

Mr Whittingdale said the committee may choose to recall Mr Murdoch once News of The World ex-editor Colin Myler and ex-legal manager Tom Crone had responded to those requests.
