Spending cuts taking UK in wrong direction, says Brendan Barber

TUC general secretary Brendan Barber is calling on the government to reduce the level of public spending cuts.

At the TUC's annual conference he will claim it is low and middle-income families who are paying the price for problems caused by the banking crisis.

He said the government was taking the wrong approach by focusing on spending cuts.
