David Cameron to boost right-to-buy housing scheme
Council house tenants will be able to buy their homes at a discounted price under a revamped right-to-buy scheme, David Cameron will announce.
The original scheme, brought in by Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s, was criticised for reducing the stock of social housing.
But Mr Cameron is expected to say the new version of the scheme will see a new home built for every one sold.
