Lord Bilimoria predicts Asian PM at Westminster

An entrepreneur and crossbench peer has predicted that there will be an Asian Prime Minister in the UK in his lifetime, although he said only one in five British Asians back his view.

Lord Bilimoria said many Asians were breaking through the glass ceiling and taking top posts in Britain, but he criticised the immigration cap saying it was hitting the curry restaurant industry and British universities.

Dr Chai Patel rejected the idea of the 'Asian vote', saying it was as "as lazy and clumsy" as the 'Basildon Man' and 'Worcester Woman' profiles put forward at previous elections.
