Diane Abbott comment sparks Twitter race row storm
Labour leader Ed Miliband has spoken to Diane Abbott about comments she made on the Twitter social networking site, amid claims they were racist.
Speaking to the BBC, Shadow Business Secretary Chuka Umunna said that the remarks were "clearly unacceptable".
The row began when Ms Abbott tweeted: ''White people love playing 'divide & rule' We should not play their game'' in response to criticism of the term "black community leaders".
The Hackney MP has since apologised for any offence caused.
