Alex Salmond: Scottish people won't be fooled

The Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond, has said the prime minister is on 'shaky ground' by trying to 'dictate terms from London' on a referendum of independence.

The comments came as the Prime Minister, David Cameron addressed people in Edinburgh, where he offered to consider more powers for Scotland, in the event of a vote against independence.

Ahead of a referendum expected in 2014, Mr Cameron admitted Scotland could go it alone, but said he believed in the United Kingdom "head, heart and soul".

Mr Salmond told the BBC's Norman Smith, "If the prime minister has an offer to make to the people of Scotland then he should make it now".
