Extradited Christopher Tappin's conditions in US jail
The son of a British man on remand in a US jail on charges of exporting parts for Iranian missiles said his father has been locked up for 23 hours a day with nothing to read or write on.
Neil Tappin said the light was left on 24 hours a day which is "one of the most distressing things", and his father had "got nothing to keep himself occupied, it's just him and his thoughts at the moment".
Mr Tappin told Andrew Neil his mother had been able to speak to her husband on the phone for 10 seconds but found out "he was was OK, bearing up under the circumstances".
Christopher Tappin, 65, has been remanded in custody until Friday, and is the latest case of a British national extradited to the US in a controversial deal.
