George Osborne: Fuel strike last thing economy needs

Chancellor George Osborne has said the government is making "sensible contingency plans" in case of a strike by fuel tanker drivers, but industrial action is "the last thing the economy needs".

But he played down an OECD warning that Britain would be in a technical recession in the next quarter, saying, "our own forecast... says we are going to avoid a recession".
