Theresa May: We have assurances from Jordan on Qatada

Home Secretary Theresa May has confirmed that efforts to deport radical cleric Abu Qatada to face trial in Jordan have resumed.

The European Court of Human Rights blocked his deportation in January, saying that evidence obtained by torture might be used against him.

But the home secretary said the government had received assurances that would allow him to be removed from the UK "in full compliance with the law".
