London 2012: MP Rushanara Ali on Olympic missiles on London flats
Plans to station surface-to-air missiles on top of a block of residential flats in east London during the Olympics were announced in a "cack-handed way", says the MP for the area.
Rushanara Ali said residents deserved "a bit of consultation and reassurance" before they saw army officers in their flats, and they still had questions about what the exercise involved.
Conservative Patrick Mercer said news of the missiles conveyed to the 'bad guys': "If you dare, if you try, you know what is going to hit you."
