G4S boss Nick Buckles: 'Company reputation is in tatters'

The chief executive of security firm G4S, Nick Buckles, was questioned by MPs from the Home Affairs Select Committee on 17 July 2012, as the firm struggled with a shortfall of security personnel for the Olympics in London.

He said it had only became clear a fortnight ago that his company would not be able to provide enough staff for the Games.

Some 3,500 troops have been drafted in to ease the problem.

David Winnick MP asked Nick Buckles if his company's reputation was ''in tatters'' and said it was ''a humiliating shambles''.

"I cannot disagree with you," the G4S boss replied.
