Lib Dem conference: Alexander on deficit and spending
The deficit has been cut by a quarter in two years, with real-terms reductions of £80bn to public spending over four years, said the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
Danny Alexander told Andrew Neil the government was totally committed to "dealing with the mess in our public finances" and claimed it had a "clear, credible plan that commands confidence in the markets".
