From near death to Paralympics
Derek Derenalagi said he was about to be put in a body bag when a doctor who was operating on him in Camp Bastion found a pulse.
He lost his legs whilst out in Afghanistan in 2007.
Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show, the Paralympic athlete and soldier said he first threw a discus in 2010, and told everyone he would be doing it at London 2012.
"I just trained hard and I did it" he said, adding he wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of his friends and colleagues.
