Geoffrey Robertson on Iran and nuclear weapons

Iran has been planning a nuclear bomb since the days the Shah and was "within a year" of having one ready to strike Israel, said the human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson.

In a new book, he has suggested President Obama would be under pressure to back an Israeli attack on Iran, leaving Britain to decide whether to support them.

The Iranian media has reported the nation had launched military drills across half the country, as Tehran continues to develop a nuclear programme, which Western nations believe is aimed at developing weapons.
