Vince Cable: 'Tax abuse unacceptable'
The business secretary has said the issue of large multinationals paying small amounts of corporation tax in the UK was "difficult" as the country wanted to attract inward investment and make it an "attractive" place to do business.
Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show, Vince Cable admitted that there was "nothing more galling" to small and medium businesses than paying tax and finding some companies were dodging it.
He said the Government needed to get tough on royalty payments, by "beefing up" their own capacity to crack down on tax abuse, as well as action at an international level.
